Update: Jillian Barberie Reynolds this morning clarified her tweet. "I wasn't let go as in 'fired'," she says on her blog. Former Good Day La anchor Dorothy Lucey today made a visit to rival Ktla Morning news, addressing her dismissal from Kttv, where her contract was not renewed after 17 years co-hosting the Fox station's morning show with Jillian Reynolds and Steve Edwards. Lucey also spoke about her new project, a talk show produced by American Idol's Nigel Lythgoe. The talk show, Good News Girls, which Lythgoe is now shopping, features five prominent Los Angeles female anchors — Wendy Burch, Pat Harvey, Christine Devine, Lucey and Ana Garcia — who have a charity of the same name. The five would cover all sorts of topics on the show, including charity.

Today was Dorothy Lucey's final day on Kttv's Good Day L.A. after her contract was not renewed. Here is her sendoff on the show from co-anchors Jillian Reynolds, who is switching to freelance status, and Steve Edwards. The video references a story in yesterday's La Times that mentions "unflattering comments about Lucey" made previously by Reynolds on Howard Stern's radio show and gives a shoutout to Deadline for breaking the story on the Good Day L.A. changes. In light of Lucey's departure, the show will hold on-air tryouts for the vacant chair in the mold of the syndicated Live With Kelly. Update: A spokesperson for Kttv has confirmed our report, including Dorothy Lucey's departure. Her last day will be Friday. Exclusive: Longtime Good Day La co-anchor Dorothy Lucey will be leaving the morning program of Los Angeles' Fox-owned station Kttv. I hear Lucey's contract was not renewed and her last day will be later this week, possibly on Friday. Additionally, Lucey's co-anchor Jillian Reynolds will switch from a full-time Kttv employee to freelance status. She will continue in her current duties on Good Morning La but not always five days a week. The move is mutually beneficial for the station, as Reynolds commands a big salary, and for Reynolds, as she can pursue freely her extracurricular activities such as sponsorship deals and events. Good Day La's third co-anchor, veteran Steve Edwards, is locked into a long-term contract. A Kttv spokesperson could not reached for comment. Good Day

Perhaps a move like appearing on "Good Day La" (weekdays, 9Am Pt on Fox) to discuss how she felt ambushed in Part 1 of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion" was what Kyle Richards was referring to when she said being friends with Lisa Vanderpump is "like playing chess with Bobby Fischer." Or maybe she was just defending herself from a barrage of attacks.
Nevertheless, Vanderpump speculated that the dynamic on display at the reunion may have emerged because she was "out of the loop," busy planning her daughter's wedding and opening a new restaurant, while the other ladies were getting on the same page. When Steve Edwards joked that the other Housewives had "ganged up and planned" a bad day for Vanderpump, she not only agreed, but also elaborated on the conspiracy theory. "Adrienne did say to Brandi, 'Oh, let's meet the night before,' and Brandi declined. I know that for a fact,

Cloris Leachman Wishes Betty White A Happy Birthday

Cloris Leachman, who stars as the eccentric grandma Maw Maw on the Fox comedy "Raising Hope," stopped by "Good Day La" (weekdays, 9 a.m. Pt on Fox) for a typically-freewheeling interview. After she cracked up while watching a clip of her show, Dorothy Lucey asked Leachman if she was feeling nuts. "I'm never being nuts. I'm always being a lovely older actress ... who's not as old as that old 90-year-old," Leachman protested, taking a friendly jab at her long-time friend and former "Mary Tyler Moore" co-star Betty White, who celebrated her 90th birthday with a televised special Monday night on NBC.
Leachman went on to wish White a happy birthday, and apologized for not making it to her birthday bash (she was "forced to go to a Fox event"). Steve Edwards asked Leachman, who's four years younger than White, if it was nice to have an older woman for a role model.

Gilles Marini came by 'Good Day La' (weekdays, 9Am Pt on Fox) to preview his 'Hot in Cleveland' guest-spot, in which he plays the captain of a gay cruise ship. But before he could get to that, Dorothy Lucey wanted to talk about Marini's recent guest spot on 'Modern Family, where Claire mistook him for being gay. "I was kind of metrosexual all the way until the end, where there's a big surprise," he explained.
Marini told a story about forgetting his lines while shooting a 'Cleveland' scene with Betty White. When he blanked on the dialogue, she quickly quipped, "Who cares when you look like that?" After that, he felt right back in his comfort zone. "It was actually a great experience," he said.

YouTube sensation turned recording artist and TV star Greyson Chance visited 'Good Day La' (weekdays 9Am Pt on Fox) to talk about what might be next in the 14-year-old's ridiculously busy career. It was just last April when Greyson posted his performance of Lady Gaga's 'Paparazzi' onto the Web; since then he's been on 'Ellen,' recorded an album and was cast as young Jimmy on 'Raising Hope.' His character Jimmy was incredibly talented as a child, but as Chance explained it, "Then I get hit by a golf club ... and that changes everything."
Dorothy Lucey asked Chance about rumors that he might be making an appearance on 'Glee,' but he shot them down with a smile. "Please, spread them," he joked. "I would love to be on 'Glee.'"
